WWBW? (What Would Blondie Wear?

I have to say that Blondie is the unreachable pinnacle of perfection when it comes to wearing the perfect thing for every occasion, but I thought maybe some others from this tribe could pitch in and help me out since I'm sure she is busy creating her most stunning Sea of Dreams attire EVER.........

We are coming up to SF from SoCal for the New Year's Eve Bash/Sea of Dreams-and according to the Internet weather forcast it has been cold in the City lately (did I read right? 30 degrees?) I imagine the usual Playa Wear will not hold up in such cold and dampness. So-what kind of cotume is tried and true? Will it be warm inside (coat over Playa Wear)? Will it be cold inside (heavier outfit-or coat at all times?) Or will I have to sew up some furry pants for the occasion?

Anybody got any great advice for me?

I'm a much stronger vocalist than guitarist, but plan on doing both. It's a casual party and a few songs is all were looking at.

TRIBAL-GYPSY COSTUME PARTY 6/24 -I Need Costume Help & Invitation

Hey There Fans of Blondie's Closet...

This goes out to some of BRC's most extravagant costumers. "A cry for help!"... ;)

So there's going to be this bad-ass fundraiser at Cellspace on Friday. My friend, Creature, is throwing the party and I'm super excited. I've pasted the party details at the end of the message. Please come and please show up in your costume-finery!

Furthermore, I have a costume dilemma and I'm coming to you for help solving it! Last night, Blondie and I spent the entire evening raiding my closet & hers to create PHENOMENAL costumes for this party. In fact, we're getting together (in *her* closet) on Tue. to put the finishing "bling" on. As you can well imagine, she and I are dangerous together when combining wardrobes! (BTW, We had a BLAST!)

Around 11pm, I decided to double check with the party host to be sure that what we were planning was really on the right track for the theme. He said that he was thinking it should be "nothing too elaborate." WHOAH! Telling me and Blondie to show up in costumes but "nothing too elaborate" is like telling cats to bark. UMMMM... Then, he said he really didn't know and figured people would do some of everything. So I feel like if I get enough people in awesome costumes, then that's the kind of party it's going to be!

So, now I am coming to you in my hour of need. I am imploring you all to not only come for the sake of the party, but to come looking amazing so that Blondie & I didn't toil in vane. (HAHAHAHA!) I don't really need a telethon or anything. Just come have fun with me, Blondie, Hans, Michael, and the crew.

PLEASE WEAR COOL SHIT! TOGETHER, WE CAN DO IT! (*giggle*)

Fur flyin' and bling shinin'...we can do that. Bring your projects, random stuff to share, your sense of humor....We'll have sewing machines, cutting surfaces, mirrors, dressing quarters, and a blender of libations to fuel the liberations. Safe supportive atmosphere---because it's too hard to pin yourself! Do the world a favor, set a prom dress free.

Sunday 4pm to blingy-heaven-goodness! in Redwood City at Kip’s Compound

Learn the secrets behind the Magical Red Shoes! Put some Ooo-la-la in your Ooompha! You'd never believe how easy it can be! Blondie is your Playa Fashionista, Kip your gracious hostess-with-the-mostest, and Heidi your convoy camel boy.

What to Bring: Things to decorate: Your tired, your weary, your yearning to be sparkly shoes, boots, corsets, bustiers, parasols, umbrellas (wanna-be parasols) hats, bras, undies, skirts, shirts, whatever... With a long pole, a holiday ornament and some sparkly ribbon, you can create a staff to accessorize your outfits. Add some lights to it, and turn heads as you strut the playa.

Things to decorate with: Bring your parts and pieces, your gemstones, your beads, chains, mirror sequins, fringe, beaded trim, coconuts, whatever. Bring your single earrings, or pairs that you never wear, as they make for great adornments. Have any battery operated flashing body jewelry? Small flat holiday decorations are great clothing decorations as well. Be sure to
bring some extra to share and trade.

Your supplies: This includes your glues. Bring your hot glue gun, your basic adhesive glue and your super glue - just bring all of your glue, and Blondie will show you what works on what. Her personal favorites include aquarium 100% silicon glue, Elephant glue, Velcro glue, and a good super glue. The package will have a list of what items that super glue works best on. If it includes GLASS, then you have a good super glue. You may want to look for super glue that uses a brush to apply it, as that is the easiest to work with. So is a gel, which is a must for any fabric applications. Also, bring your Buttoniere if you have one. Staplers and scissors and tape if you think you need them. Bring your own rag if you are working with anything messy, and are
anything like Blondie. She glued herself to her living room floor, TWICE !!!!

Food: Potluck as usual - or we'll order in Chinese! (Who wants to cook when there's bling to play with!) Bring a cup. Bring something for Kip to drink. Bring something for Blondie to drink. Bring something for Heidi to drink. Wait, er, fine. Bring something to put in your own cup (and in ours).

Hmm, I am suspicious.

Could it be a secret plan to rope some of us into actually ORGANIZING Blondie’s closet? (Color coordinated or by length?)

Or, is this one of those secret clubs where we get to gossip about the number of sequins on a particular garment and which of our guy friends would look best in such and such an outfit.

Or maybe, we just get to celebrate the wonderful lady that Blondie is and admire her glamorous digs. What does she wear to work anyway?

Elecktra and I found 2 today in East San Jose.

Fabric R' Us on Berryessa - Fabric (not much fur) and standard trim to die for including LONG fringe trim and beaded/feather trim.

Maharani Fashions on Alum Rock. It is impossible to describe other than to say Blondie better show up without her credit cards.
We are talking gold, silver, beaded, irridecent, OMG fabric and trim. Bells, beads, amazing colors, money belts, rhinestone jewelry that is over the top. A must see and share.
